I have successfully made a web application for my network

Hello jQuery Helpers,

I haven't written a blog here for a long time now but today I thought I should share this little achievement with you. I have successfully made a web application for my network. The application is called MyEENews. If downloaded and installed on any Android smart phone, you can then have an icon on the phone screen that connects you to the mobile version of my network automatically when touched. I built this application thanks to a website called…

Whitney Broke My Heart!

"If I should stay, I will only be in your wayyyyyyyyyyyyy.

So I go, but I know, I will think of you...."

Really Whitney?! Were you really bidding me goodbye?

In my naivety "so I go" I…

NC - NC Partnership

Every time I look at the number of Ning websites out there struggling day and night to survive, one thing comes to mind. What if these tens of thousands of Ning websites were merged into a few hundred solid, popular, professional, reliable and successful websites?! Perhaps they would be so prominent and dominant that each and every Internet user would be obliged to use at least 1 Ning website in one niche or the other. This is probably just my imaginary inevitable Ning world.…

The Power of jPoints

Many people underestimate the power of this tool called jpoints that we have here on jQueryHelp. TJ the creator of this tool doesn’t really put a lot of promotion in to it because he spends more time writing other codes to help Ning website owners, which makes sense because the main focus of this website is to help website owners who need small pieces of code to change or modify sections of their websites. However, if I were a salesperson at jQueryHelp, the one thing I’d focus on…

The Challenges of a Network Creator

When you first conceive the idea of starting a social networking website, it usually looks like the perfect idea. As you lie in your bed and visualize the idea, or discuss it with your friends, colleagues, family, etc. it all looks like the perfect thing to do. You see yourself becoming the new world number 1 in social networking. The idea in your dreams, looks even so good that you find numerous flaws in leading social networks in the world that you intend to get fixed with your…

Top 10 Best Ning Apps.

When you first start a Ning website, one of the first things you rush to is to click and add Ning Apps. In 30 minutes you can easily add 10applications to your newly created network making it look features packed. Then gradually you realize you have to delete some because of several reasons: Malfunctioning, trail version over, free version too limiting in features, lack of maintenance and upgrades, slow loading, your members don’t / can’t use it, etc. Most NCs end up with less than 5…

Stuck with a Ning website?

The first person I asked this question to was myself three months ago before I closed down one of my pro Ning networks. If one made a survey asking this question to one thousand Ning website owners the number who answer "yes" would probably be a big surprise.

How do you know you are stuck with a Ning website? Five main pointers.

>> You find yourself with a handful of active members, usually less than a hundred, and hundreds of others that simply sign up and…

Fictitious Members: The Good & The Bad!

There are fictitious members on our networks. Yes it is easy to do that. All you have to do is use another email address different from the one you used to sign up on that particular network. Some of us have more than five different email addresses. I have over 10, all attached to various activities that I do. Fictitious members on our websites are there for various reasons: Some are accounts created by members who lost details about their original accounts and do not know or want to…

What turns me away from Ning websites!

If you own a network based on the Ning platform like this one, you might be wondering why some people sign up but hardly ever return. It's easy to jump to conclusions like, "the design of the site doesn't look professional," "Lack of content", "too few members" while leaving out some other reasons we are ignorant of or consider trivial. Since last year I have taken upon myself as a hobby to join as many Ning websites as I can with the objective of learning more techniques for…

Contest Ideas For Ning Websites

Thousands of us that own Ning based websites have one thing in common: Activity on our websites. We want the members we have whether a hundred or tens of thousands to visit, not only visit but stay and interact. If you are like me, one of those NCs having a network with less than a thousand members, then you surely brainstorm daily on how you can get new sign ups as well as get current members to interact. People have come up with many ways to do this. Give something away free. That's…

English Sells!

A similar expression I hear often is "Sex sells". Yes it does. English does sell too. In countries like America, Canada, The UK, Australia, etc. People don't see the worth of this product so much.  I live in a country where you can better assess the worth of the ability to speak, write, read and listen to English. In 13years of teaching this language to those who use it as a second language, I have seen and felt this value. English language in this part of…
